Party Photos from Our Readers

Sweet and proud mommy Aubrey has shared her daughter's pink and green polka dot first birthday party photos with us too. Hooray!

My favorite? The round paper "dot" lanterns (in the party colors, of course) hanging over the yummy cupcake trays (yes, she decorated the cupcakes with polka dots too!).

See her daughter's hot pink polka dot pillowcase dress and see the cupcakes up close here.

Thank you Aubrey for sharing your polka dot party photos with us!

New Twirl Tutus at Polka Dot Market

I'm back! I want to let the polka dot backpack winners that their bags are shipping today. The ribbons are all tied and trimmed - hope you like them!

I've been adding new products to Polka Dot Market that I am so excited about like new banners, aprons and the twirl skirt tutu pictured above.

You know our sewn ballet-style handmade tutus. They are 8" long and perfect for first birthday parties and portraits. Each is made to size and machine-stitched one at a time with 50+ yards of tulle. They are very time-intensive, but a labor of love. There is nothing like a handmade, sewn tutu!

Are some of you looking for a tutu that looks great, feels soft and is a little longer for older girls? Oh, and I bet you wouldn't mind if it was half the price of our handmade tutu?

You will love our new 12" long twirl skirt tulle tutus. Made with THREE layers of tulle and finished with an elastic waistband on satin ribbon trim. This skirt will fit 16" to 24" waist sizes and comes with a very nice price tag. Only $18 with your choice of polka dot ribbon bow OR silk gerber daisy jeweled flower clip. How fun is that?

Now in stock, choose from black, red, orange, pink and purple twirl tutus.

I listened to all of your comments and suggestions for new products, and I think our new Twirl Tutus are great for tweens. We will have sizes 8, 10 and 12 shirts available this fall too for you.

I am working on another project with TomKat Studio that you will love - check back soon!

Abby Cadabby Birthday Party

Rebecca was sweet enough to share her daughter Abby's first birthday party photos with us! She used the Abby Cadabby theme and decorated with polka dots, fairy wands, butterflies, and tons of pink, purple and blue. I love everything, especially that mom is wearing a purple polka dot shirt to match. Fabulous!

See all of her Abby Cadabby party photos on her blog, Faith Family Home Friends.

Don't miss the photos of the brunch table, favors and Abby's gifts (I want her kitchen). :)

Look at this cake that Rebecca made with her sister for Abby:

Can you believe this cake?! So special. What a lucky little girl!

Thank you for sharing her party with us, Rebecca. Be sure to add her blog to your favorites while you are peeking at her photos! :)

Polka Dot Milk Shake Recipe

Look what Heather found for you - a recipe for a strawberry polka dot milk shake!

This recipe can be made with your favorite ice cream to match your polka dot party theme. Here's the secret: The polka dots are halved marshmallows! :)

The Polka Dot Birthday Milk Shake
Credits: Recipe by Sweet Paul and photo by Alexandra Grabewski

1 1/2 cup milk
2 large scoops vanilla ice cream
1 cup pitted strawberries
1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
6 marshmallows, cut in half

Place milk, ice cream, vanilla and strawberries in a blender and blend until smooth.
Press the cut part of the marshmallows onto the inside of the glasses.
Pour the shake and serve.

Do you think the halved marshmallows would stick to the glass if you tried this with pink lemonade too?
